Rajnikanth’s ‘Kochadaiyaan’ explores unchartered territory

He has been one of India’s biggest stars with an extraordinarily prolific and enduring career.
And now superstar Rajnikanth is helping push Indian cinema to new realms with his latest release ‘Kochadaiyaan: The Legend’.
The film will be the first Indian movie to feature Performance Capture technology previously seen in such Hollywood blockbusters as Avatar, Beowulf, and Steven Spielberg’s masterful Tin Tin.
Details of the story are being kept secret for the time being although it is known that Rajnikanth will play an archetypal superhero in an epic story of good versus evil; a rather staid Indian narrative that will no doubt be lifted by the outstanding talent involved with the film.
Aside from Rajnikanth, Kochadaiyaan stars Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone and veteran actor Jackie Shroff.
The score will be composed by Oscar-winner A R Rahman whilst the performance capture technology is reportedly being handled by a team of experts at the venerable Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire where the entire film will be made.
The film has been written by veteran South Indian actor, producer and screenwriter K S Ravikumar and will be directed by Soundarya Ashwin, the youngest daughter of Rajnikanth, and one of India’s most dynamic young filmmakers.
Kochadaiyaan: The Legend will be released this November.
